{"id":3192,"date":"2025-10-09T15:39:08","date_gmt":"2025-10-09T12:39:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ambtallinn.esteri.it\/?p=3192"},"modified":"2025-10-10T10:48:01","modified_gmt":"2025-10-10T07:48:01","slug":"25th-week-of-the-italian-language-in-the-world-italian-beyond-borders","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ambtallinn.esteri.it\/en\/news\/dall_ambasciata\/2025\/10\/25th-week-of-the-italian-language-in-the-world-italian-beyond-borders\/","title":{"rendered":"25th WEEK OF THE ITALIAN LANGUAGE IN THE WORLD: ITALIAN BEYOND BORDERS"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>On the occasion of the <strong>25th edition of the Week of the Italian Language in the World<\/strong>, the <strong>Embassy of Italy in Tallinn<\/strong> is pleased to present a series of events dedicated to the promotion of the Italian language and culture, in collaboration with <strong>Tallinn University<\/strong> and the <strong>Embassy of Switzerland to Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The theme of the 2025 edition \u2013 <em>\u201cItalian beyond borders: migration, identity, multilingualism\u201d<\/em> \u2013 offers an opportunity to explore Italian as a language of expression, dialogue and belonging in multicultural contexts.<\/p>\n<p>The programme includes four public events:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>10 October, 16:15 \u2013 Room M-328, Tallinn University<\/strong><br \/>\n<em>Migration paths in contemporary Italian literature<\/em><br \/>\nA conversation with writer and editor <strong>Antonella Mei<\/strong>, focusing on the theme of migration in current Italian literature. An opportunity to reflect \u2013 through the written word \u2013 on departure, roots, and evolving identities.<\/li>\n<li><strong>11 October, 11:00 \u2013 Room M-340 (ELU ruum), Tallinn University<\/strong><br \/>\n<em>The challenges of the journey: growth and fear of the unknown<\/em><br \/>\nAn interactive workshop led by <strong>Antonella Mei<\/strong>, aimed at Italian-speaking children and teenagers. Through stories and creative activities, participants will explore the themes of travel and cultural encounter.<\/li>\n<li><strong>15 October, 18:00 \u2013 Room M-213, Tallinn University<\/strong><br \/>\n<em>Voices of Italy: readings, music and translation paths<\/em><br \/>\nAn evening blending words and music to celebrate the richness of the Italian language in its literary and artistic forms, with bilingual readings and musical performances inspired by both classical and contemporary texts.<\/li>\n<li><strong>18 October \u2013 Conference \u201cItalophonia: Italian Beyond Borders\u201d<\/strong><br \/>\nA full day of academic discussion and reflection on the role of Italian as a living language in a global context, with a particular focus on the connections between the Mediterranean and the Baltic regions.
