The Embassy of Italy is situated in the heart of the Old Town, at No. 2 Vene Street, inside of Demini Palace.
The building, that distinguishes itself by its Renaissance style decorated front, particularly visible after the last renovation in 1998, was built in 1881 on the neighbourhood of the Town Hall Square on project of the architect R. Knüpffer and on commissioned work by a merchant of Italian origin, of whom it keeps the name.
More than one hundred years later the location of Demini Palace, at the corner of Vene and Viru Street, reveals itself as one of the most active part of the City from a commercial point of view, besides being a link place among the Old Town and the modern center of Tallinn.
