The “Youth4Climate: Driving Ambition Event” will take place in Milan on 28-30 September 2021, back to back with the Milan Pre-COP26 on September 30th – October 2nd.
Building on the global movement generated by young people and sponsored by the Government of Italy, in its capacity of partner of the COP26 Presidency, the Youth4Climate event will provide young delegates the opportunity to debate and present concrete proposals to advance the climate agenda and, for the first time, to directly engage with Ministers attending the Pre-COP.
February 1st, Italy in collaboration with the Secretary General’s Envoy on Youth, launched officially a global call for the selection of young leaders who will attend the “Youth4Climate: Driving Ambition” event. The global call is open to all young people (aged 15-29) with a proven track of climate leadership and expertise from any of the 197 Member Parties of the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC). The aim of the global call is to secure an inclusive and equal geographical, gender and social representation to this important event.
In order to secure this global representation, we encourage all Member States to share the call in their respective, relevant national contexts, in order to ensure access for all young leaders globally. The application process will be open until February 28th through the following UN platform.
