The G20 Heads of State and Government Summit will be held in Rome on October 30th and 31st 2021. The Italian government will reintroduce temporary border checks at internal borders of the Schengen Area (in accordance with art. 28 of Regulation (EU) 2016/399 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 9 March 2016) in order to ensure the regular and orderly course of the G20 Summit and to prevent the risk of entry and exit from the national territory of persons that may represent a threat to the public policy and internal security.
The reintroduction of border controls will affect all national internal borders and will start from h. 22.00 of October 27 until h. 13.00 of November 1, 2021.
