From today the Embassy website is enriched with a new assistance tool. The virtual assistant (“chatbot”) of our website is now active, a program that simulates a conversation via chat and which, through a pre-established path of questions and answers, will be able to guide users towards the information they need.
The “chatbot” will be able to answer a wide range of questions, in particular regarding consular and visa services.
This new software was presented on February 8th in Rome by the Secretary General of the Farnesina, Amb. Riccardo Guariglia, and was activated on the website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation and on the websites of 20 Italian diplomatic-consular offices, including the Italian Embassy in Tallinn.
“The Ministry of Foreign Affairs does not only deal with foreign policy in the strict sense. We provide a vast range of services to users both at the Farnesina and in over 200 Italian diplomatic-consular offices around the world” stated the Amb. Guariglia, who tested the software firsthand and recalled that “MAECI is among the very first Italian administrations to equip itself with this kind of tool on a large scale, demonstrating the great attention paid to the issues of digital innovation and the quality of services returned to users”.
Also present at the event were the Director General for Public and Cultural Diplomacy, Alessandro De Pedys, and the Director General for Italians Abroad and Migration Policies, Luigi Maria Vignali, who underlined the relevance of the instrument for improving the quality of service offered to users and the Farnesina’s commitment to digital innovation.
